Night pic

This pic is one of a small series I took a few nights ago. It's kind of cool. The time of day represented in the pic looks to be around sunset (That hill is in the west of the horizon). In reality what looks like sunlight glowing on the clouds is actually light from the street lamps in Calgary being reflected off the clouds. I took the picture at around eleven pm. The light that is present in the picture was all generated from the Calgarian street lights and the moon. I used a fifteen second lens exposure with 400 ISO to get the effect. Took the picture in Rosebud AB. With the long exposure and mid range ISO there is some unfortunate noise, if you look closely you may see a couple of red pixels. I might edit those out sometime, maybe.

Abstraction

If you were trapped in a box for 10 years, how would you feel afterward? Would you feel awkward among the rest of the human race? You have missed 10 years of life. There are new forms of technology and science that you had never heard of before. Society has left you behind and you are left adrift among an endless ocean of information. Could you adjust, or would your mind reject everything new. Rapidly you would go into shock and slowly, silently, you would slip away without anybody paying heed. The fast free flowing river of information, politics and heartless people will simply ignore your need. 10 years and no one will remember your existence. The modern pace of society will be so fast that your family and friends will have forgotten about you and continued to develop their own knowledge of the continually changing architecture of society. Rapidly society is being abstracted. 10 years and the human race has destroyed itself and been replaced with technology that saves us from having to think. Technology that stops us from needing logic. Technology that makes the use of a heart and soul unnecessary ideals of an ancient society. Bar codes will replace words, our eyes will see pixels, digital copies of our minds will be backed up constantly. Geometrical shapes, colours, right and wrong, this and that, all will be mixed into intangible information. 10 years and you will have no one. 10 years and you will have nothing. 10 years and you will not exist to anybody but yourself. All that will remain is the shattered remains of men and women who are but empty shells.

Well this is it, I'm re-blogged as it were. Now I can start posting again and anyone can read the crap that I write that's full of angst... Well okay there won't be much angst, I left that stage a while
ago. Anyway, I'll probably post some political articles I find interesting or I might just go on a rant. But, I'll start off by sharing this wonderful picture of a cow that's being attacked by crows.
